Exploring Simplicity, the foundational piece from the Simplicity Series
I am going to share some of my favorite pieces and the stories behind them! These are the ones I really, really loved creating, and that have struck a cord with you guys. I thought you might enjoy learning a little bit more about what went into the making of each piece.
Creating art that has significance, history and story is a lot of fun and makes the art so much more meaningful. Some pieces take an hour to come together and others will take five weeks - each one is it's own entity and takes coaxing to come to life.
Since you have invited the art into your home (which really makes my day!!!) I thought I'd share a little bit more about them.
This is a fun and story filled kind of blog post, where I’m digging deep into my life, art, experiences and all that goes into creating a piece of art that is special enough to get to hang on your wall. If you’ve ever bought a piece of art from me and want to know where it came from, you'll want to read on!
So when I first started making prints I wasn't quite sure how to go about it. It has always been SUPER important to me to provide beautiful art to everyone who wants it, and make it available at a price that's affordable and accessible - but I also wanted each one to be special. I wanted each print to be just as beautiful as an original. This is a tall order! And required some problem solving.
Most artists just produce prints that are all exactly the same. But I don't agree with that, and it just didn't feel right: so I started painting each one.
Let's pull back the curtain, and take a look behind the scenes. That way you'll know exactly what arrives at your home, when you choose this option!
