Since we moved into the cabin, I now live all of 6 minutes away from Frankie (my horse) whoot whoot! I don't know about you, but the closer to our horses we live - the better.
Accordingly, a couple of girlfriends have started riding at the ranch with me, and we have been taking off on some epic 10 mile rides. Last weekend, we were in the Los Padres National Forest on Camuesa Trail. The weekend before, we did Aliso Loop which drops you into Sage Hill Campground. These trails are stunning: they are remote, green, with lots of running water and CLIFFS! Yes, cliffs. I have never ridden as many cliffs in my life as I have in the last two weeks. Thank goodness for Frankie, possibly the most trail steady Rocky Mountain I have been on. As we started on our ride last weekend, the first ten minutes consisted of a trail with a drop to my left. Needless to say, I just held my breath and a grabbed handful of mane. Because, I knew he'd get me through. And, of course, he did. We went on to having one of the most beautiful rides I've ever been on. With a stop for a cocktail at the 2/3 point of course 😉.
Enjoy the photos! Such great views and such a great ride. I am sure they will be influencing and affecting my art in the coming months. I hope you get out on some great rides too!
Oh, and since quite a few of you asked, I included a photo of the cabin too!
